Becoming a first home buyer is an exciting experience, but it is a bit daunting as well. There is a lot to comprehend – blocks of land, floorplans, finance, solicitors, Government grants, etc. 

At Beechwood, we have been helping first home buyers for almost 40 years. We have decades of new home construction experience as well as the knowledge that goes with building thousands of homes. At Beechwood, we have one of the largest building footprints in New South Wales, building from Port Macquarie to south of Narooma, and most places in between. Tips for First Home Buyers

• Speak with a lender or broker about your borrowing capacity – consider whether you should get a home loan pre-approval. Don’t overextend yourself, buy within your comfort zone. 

• Look at the areas where you want to live – consider the existing and future local infrastructure and transport.

• Speak with a builder before committing to buy a block of land – they can assist with what to look for in terms of size, aspect, slope, and whether it will be a good building block. Remember – what lies below is important.  

• Work out what are the things you must have and things you would like in your new home – what are you willing to compromise on? 

• Explore all the Government grants and concessions available.
