First Home Buyer

Becoming a first home buyer is an exciting experience, but it is a bit daunting as well. There is a lot to comprehend – blocks of land, floorplans, finance, solicitors, Government grants, etc. At Beechwood, we have been helping first home buyers for almost 40 years.

Becoming a first home buyer is an exciting experience, but it is a bit daunting as well. There is a lot to comprehend – blocks of land, floorplans, finance, solicitors, Government grants, etc.

At Beechwood, we have been helping first home buyers for almost 40 years. We have decades of new home construction experience as well as the knowledge that goes with building thousands of homes. At Beechwood, we have one of the largest building footprints in New South Wales, building from Port Macquarie to south of Narooma, and most places in between. Importantly, we only build in New South Wales. It’s where we live and it’s what we know.

One of the reasons for our continued success is that we recognise that everyone is different. We do not put people into categories and tell them what they can have. It’s your home. You should be able to select what you want, not what a builder wants to sell to you. Unlike others, we don’t have pre-determined selection boards. Whilst we can help first home buyers with relevant information about what to look for when buying as block of land, Government grants, finance and which home design might suit their lifestyle and budget, we leave the major decisions to you.

We are often not the cheapest, but we strive to provide the best value for money. This is because we believe that a home should come with a better range of inclusions as standard than most other builders. We also allow design flexibility as we think your home should be as individual as you are.

That’s part of the Beechwood difference. Whether you are a single, a couple, a young family, a growing family, an empty nester or an investor, looking to buy your first home speak with one of our friendly and experienced Building and Design Consultants about your options.

Tips for First Home Buyers

  • Speak with a lender or broker about your borrowing capacity – consider whether you should get a home loan pre-approval. Don’t overextend yourself, buy within your comfort zone.
  • Look at the areas where you want to live – consider the existing and future local infrastructure and transport.
  • Speak with a builder before committing to buy a block of land – they can assist with what to look for in terms of size, aspect, slope, and whether it will be a good building block. Remember – what lies below is important.
  • Work out what are the things you must have and things you would like in your new home – what are you willing to compromise on?
  • Explore all the Government grants and concessions available.
