A recent Multi-Generational Study by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute shows that one in five Australian households have adults from two or more generations living under one roof. The report shows that multi-generation living arrangements are highly-concentrated in and around suburban areas.

Beechwood Homes is delighted that the Newcastle Jets 2015-16 jerseys are finally available for purchase at the Jets’ new merchandise shop at 19 Honeysuckle Drive in Newcastle.

The shop opened with a fan day last Saturday with the players, including new recruits Milos Trifunovic and Leonardo, in attendance for photos and autographs.

Over 100 members took advantage of Beechwood’s Trade in your Stripes promotion, obtaining a further $20 discount on top of their member discount, by trading in their old Jets jerseys. When announcing the promotion last week, Beechwood's Managing Director, Vic Cavasinni, said "We recognise that obtaining a new kit each year is a significant expense for families and we are pleased to help out. If members have an old red and blue striped jersey sitting in their wardrobe that no longer fits, or if it doesn't have any sentimental value or they simply won't wear it anymore, they can trade it in and get a further discount on a new blue home jersey.”

The traded in jerseys will be donated by Beechwood Homes and the Jets to disadvantaged football groups throughout northern NSW.

The Trade in your Stripes promotion is still running until further notice.

Mr Cavasinni also said “We recognise that this promotion is not for everyone, and some fans will want to keep every Jets jersey they own. However, we will be running a further promotion that we think every Jets fan will want to win."

Beechwood is offering an exclusive behind the scenes tour at the Jets' first home match of the season against Sydney FC on 17 October for two lucky winners and a friend each. The prize includes a pre-match dressing room tour, meeting the captains at the coin toss, watching the players warm up from the pitch and watching the players walk out from the tunnel. One of these experiences was won by Laura Turner at the fan day. Laura had the closest guess in our M&Ms guessing competition.

In Round 23 of the A-League season, Beechwood Homes announced that for every goal Sydney FC scored for the remainder of the season, Beechwood Homes would make a donation of $1,500 to be split between Sydney FC’s charity partners, Football United and beyondblue.

Sydney FC scored 16 goals in the six games after the Beechwood Homes’ pledge, bringing the total donation figure up to $24000. Earlier this month, Beechwood Homes’ Managing Director, Vic Cavasinni joined Sydney FC goal scorers Alex Brosque and Matt Jurman to present a $12,000 cheque to Football United, with the remaining amount to be donated to beyondblue. Jurman and Brosque have been ambassadors of Football United since the partnership’s inception and the Sky Blues defender praised the charity partner’s on the level of support it has achieved.



“It’s a great cause and I’m very proud to be able to score a goal and obviously help the kids in the long run which is very important,” Jurman said.
“It’s great to see that Beechwood Homes are helping out and give the kids something to look forward to.”

Anne Bunde-Birouste, Founder and Director of Football United, thanked Beechwood Homes and Sydney FC for their support saying that the donation would go a long way in providing for the future of the program.

“It’s really hard to keep a program like this going. We’re working in social change and one of the hardest things for us is survival financially and the engagement from Beechwood Homes is helping us do that which is amazing,” she said.

“In 2008 we had a really nice partnership and over the years it’s been growing exponentially, it’s not just about the money but it’s about the really sincere engagement from players and staff that’s ongoing and never failing and we’re fans.

“The future is keeping our programs going with more schools, enabling our youth leadership program to grow and getting more kids involved and actually running programs like this for other kids.”

So many people that are new to the property game – and let’s face it, we all were once – seem to come up against the same the question. “What is the difference between a solicitor and a conveyancer? In order to understand this further, it is important to explore the term ‘real property’. Real property is simply immovable property, primarily land and buildings. Real property is the term applied to all land, buildings and their fixtures in relation to ownership. The reason it is important to understand this term is because a key definition between these two legal professions is that a conveyancer is restricted to dealing with real property while a solicitor is able to deal with more intangible matters, such as wills and bonds, as well as conveyancing.

Most property transactions will only require the services of a conveyancer as opposed to a solicitor. By focusing solely on property transfers and sales, licensed conveyancers are able to offer a more cost-effective and specialised service. While full-service solicitors will charge by the hour, a conveyancer will more often than not charge a flat fee for a standard matter and their specific knowledge can expedite the process significantly.

However, a knowledgeable solicitor will be crucial if your property transaction is more complicated or requires attendance at a court. It would be wise to consult with a conveyancer initially to determine whether it is necessary to use a solicitor in order to avoid additional costs.

Beechwood Homes are proud to have been Platinum Sponsor at the 2015 Macarthur Ladies Night Out, a charity event that raises money for the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre.

Now in its 7th year, the Macarthur Ladies Night Out event has raised over $120,000 for the Centre. The money raised by the event will be donated to the Wig Library, supporting women who have lost their hair through medical treatments such as chemotherapy.

Nearly 250 women came together on Saturday 12th September in a room of pink to raise money for the charity. Hundreds of balloons were sold with raffle tickets attached to win items all donated to the charity, as well a silent auction and a range of other raffles.

Beechwood was proud to be a sponsor for the event and applauds the good work of the charity in supporting the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre.
